WILL & THE FOUNDATION’S JOURNEY

To be writing this after year one of the 100 & First Foundation seems somewhat surreal, to see what was a conversation in a car park turn into a fully-fledged charity, delivering staggering impacts for its beneficiaries is both humbling and astonishing.

When we set up 100 & First ltd, the foundation was just an idea and we knew little to nothing of the challenges we would have to deal with, but with a huge amount of gumption, trust and verve, we have been able to make waves within a very much forgotten part of our society. I have to take my hat off to Sam Cload, without who, this idea would have remained as just that…an idea…and to Tom Bednall for his unwavering energy and hard work.

It is difficult to mark out any one moment of our first 365 days, being in a position to bring the brilliant Jay Stokes into the fold is right up there, but the Portland walk stands out as a beautiful accumulation of hard work and friendship to raise money to help those who need it.

Year two will see some really exciting developments for the Foundation and will see it flourish. Our vision is to create an inclusive society where people are not limited by a criminal conviction, we have a long way to go…but are incredibly excited about the journey ahead!
